"Madawana_Societe Composite"
Paul Pascon, Franco-Moroccan sociologist, affirmed that a society is mainly characterized by the coexistence of all contradictions often in harmony; coining the term "Societe Composite"
Madawana is the "family code" of Morocco, which over the years is undergoing series of changes that opt for balance the inequalities between men and women.
But the handicap is getting harmonize evolution and tradition, especially in the figure of women.
This artwork talks about RESPECT: for women, for tradition, for reach the rights to choose ..
The elements used have been carefully selected:
The hair, pays a small tribute to Marina Abramović, a woman who knew how to break barriers. In one of his most famous pieces she brushed her hair until you reach a point of aggression; in retaliation for the "beauty socially imposed on the figure woman"; hence this material appears in my work as a tribute and as a metaphor for an obligatory demand: to have looking nice in the eyes of others if you are a female, whatever your nationality, religion, culture or status.
The tattooed hands embrace this opportunity of freedom of choice, hands representing tradition, beauty, customs ... monochrome hands showing with elegance and sobriety, the importance of preserve the inherent culture to the course of history.
Colored ribbons house the same background of the lithography but in greens and reds, are a tribute to Moroccan women, the colors of their land that intermingle and coexist between them, deconstructed in colorful fragments supporting the joy, the plurality ... After all the different paths, making that tradition, evolution and respect walk together.
And all it assembled in the common instrument of this project, a male moroccan slippers
