I am pleased to have been invited to join to the project's "somos nosotras y las otras..." ... where were intervened 76 "bras" by women artists. My contribution has been a piece Look At My Eyes.
Critique, grievance and irony are the bases of "Look At My Eyes".
Critique to the uncomfortable look that settles sassy, annoying and irritating. That forces you to wrap yourself in your own hug, trying to redirect attention and build a wall of respect.
Grievance against gender inequality, who value physical aspects rather than intellectual ones, judging our appearances before that our capacities that discriminate by gender rather than by curriculum.
Irony under the circumstances ... if you don`t look to my eyes, then I will put my eyes on your focus, I will achieve prove that I am capable, that my intelligence is above your vision. Yes, I will draw chest ... but in my own way.
Because many times in front of more of one "gentleman", we have surprise them too much concentrate on our chest ...and we have thought this phrase ... hey you! "Look at my eyes".
